Sue Adler, President, Albany School Board

Sue tells us about what it takes to run for the school board, the large number of immigrant students that attend the city schools, the variety of languages spoken in the Albany schools and instead of English as a Second Language (ESL), the term is now English as a New Language (ENL). The school district educates 9,600 students a year and has a budget totaling $234 million, more than the budget of the city of Albany. We also discuss changing STEM to STEAM and adding arts to the acronym.
