Tom provides a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run for a statewide office in student government while studying for exams without failing any courses. Tom, 23, is a Binghamton University senior who hails from nearby Endwell and is majoring in Human Development. As a member of the SUNY Board of Trustees he is responsible for advocating on behalf of the 465,000 students of SUNY. As opposed to having an adversarial relationship with the SUNY administration, like many of his predecessors have had, Tom works closely with SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher to try to enhance the student experience. Zimpher has publicly recognized Tom for his resolute commitment to his constituents and to showcase youthful participation in the SUNY Administration. You will see during this interview Tom is bright and has many attributes working in his favor.
